Hit-Boy: Born to make Hits

Born May 21 and named Chauncey Hollis, to the rest of the world he is Hit-Boy. Hit-Boy is an American Grammy Award Nominated hip-hop, R&B and contemporary platinum-level music Producer and Rapper. He has produced numerous Platinum songs for various rappers and R’nB singers. He is the founder of Hits since ’87. He is also one of the founding members of the collective brand Surf Club (along with fellow beat makers Chase N.Cashe, BCarr, and Chili Chill).

Surf Club has become a team to host a number of artists as well as songwriters and other producers. Surf Club originated in southern California. They got their start in the industry in 2007, after linking with Polow Da Don’s Zone 4 (record label), an imprint of Interscope Records. Hit-Boy is currently signed to G.O.O.D Music

Cruel Summer Album Review

The much awaited & anticipated Album has been dropped! IB people “Cruel Summer” is here!

Its a good album which features exceptional beat productions overall, tracks like “Higher”, “Creepers”, and “Sin City” stand out thus far. “The Morning” feat Raekwon, Pusha T, Common, 2 Chainz, CyHi Da Prynce, Kid Cudi & D’Banj vocally exhibited a level of good rap I expected for this album! Raekwon showed that he is still in the game, coming up with hard punch lines!
Track #12 “Don’t Like” (Remix) featuring Kanye West, Chief Keef, Pusha T, Big Sean & Jadakiss is a great track, Big Sean, Pusha T, Jadakiss and Kanye West had signature bars they all gave great flows!

Listening to the album I can’t help but wonder what the album concept is for “Cruel Summer”, it greatly lacks focus.

My sentiments, “Clique”, “New God Flow” and “Cold” as singles built the hopes too high for me, they raised the bar too high! I highly anticipated a classic album and it fell short. The G.O.O.D. Music Clique is more than capable of putting together an Album better than “Cruel Summer”!

That said “Cruel Summer” is still a good album earning 4 mics based on I.B album ratings.

Jordan Son of Mars

The Jordan “Son of Mars” sneaker was released in the United States of America yesterday, September 15th in Dark Grey/University Gold – Bordeaux – Cool Mint colours.

This hybrid shoe borrows prominent design elements from the Air Jordan III, IV, V, VI, and XX. It also retains a strap across the shoe laces, that is a custom modification with a design that seems to be elephant print but is instead a series of relevant icons.

The Price tag on this pair of retro hybrid kicks is US$160, equivalent to ZAR1313,23.
