When The Creative Flow Runs Dry

Abstract Inspiration

Abstract Inspiration

Sometimes inspiration finds you, sometimes you go find it, sometimes it’s neither one of the above.

When inspiration is hard to come by whether in the active sense of looking for it or in the magical serendipitous instance of “it” finding you, I believe the best way to find a solution for this frustrating situation is to position yourself, mind, body and spirit in such a way that you become highly sensitive to any stimulus to subconsciously attract inspiration.

Step outside the norm, do things you don’t usually do, if you usually drive around take a bus or a train, try out a new flavour of chips, I recommend “Lays ~ Sour Cream and Onion” flavour, it is to die for. Listen to a new genre of music, visit an Art gallery, or a museum be a recycling bin of seemingly useless information, music, art, books, conversation or whatever. You will find that inspiration is in the most simple of things, places even, and realising that is the beauty and magic of it all.

So inspired by whatever, be it a song, a painting, a book, an article in a magazine, a beautiful big moon precariously hung on black velvet  or a starry night or how something or someone makes you feel, the creative juice in you will effortlessly just flow, without putting much thought into it.

Keep in mind, Inspiration is Never on Schedule but Always on Time.

Be Inspired!!!

Magna Carta Art Work unveils.

Jay-Z’s Life + Times site has posted photos of the album cover, along with a message that reads:

“Located in the United Kingdom, The Salisbury Cathedral, home to one of the four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta documents, has become the site which debuted JAY Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail album cover art. The installation will be on display at the Salisbury Cathedral Chapter House through the month of July.”

After much consideration, the RIAA has officially awarded Jay-Z’s album as a platinum selling project, despite Billboard’s decision to disregard bought albums.

Magna Carta Holy Grail will be released globally on Tuesday, July 9.

July 4th

Magna Carta Holy Grail Magna is the title to the twelfth studio album by Jay-Z. The album is scheduled for release on July 4, 2013 by Roc-A-Fella and Roc Nation while being distributed by Universal.

It features the usual impressive serial producer cast we have seen on Jay – Z albums over the past decade; Jahlil Beats, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Rick Rubin, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland and The-Dream. An unexpected exclusion is renowned record smith No I.D .

Jay has been seen in the studio with various artists such as Drake, The-Dream, Raekwon, Nas, and Justin Timberlake working on the album.

Part of the album promo had a genius execution it was flighted during the fifth game of the 2013 NBA Finals. It featured Jay-Z in a new commercial by Samsung where he announces that his twelfth studio album will be titled, Magna Carta Holy Grail and will be released on July 4th, 2013. Jay is seen speaking to producer Rick Rubin in the studio about the album saying, “The album is about, like this duality of how do you navigate through this whole thing, through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself.” The commercial featured producers that are confirmed to be on the album including Timbaland, Rick Rubin, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams. The men discussed the music they were creating, nodding their heads to the beat and laughing as wisecracks were made. Jay-Z described the new music as “lush” and full of live instrumentation.

“That’s what hip-hop is,” he said. “It’s the emotion.”

The commercial was produced by electronics giant Samsung, who reportedly signed Jay-Z to a $20 million deal in early June. The New York Post’s Page Six quoted a source on June 4 who spoke of the artist’s desire to create a “new music-streaming service to promote his acts and music on mobile devices.”  The album will be available for free download on July 4, 12:01 a.m. EST, to the first one million Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Magna Carta is promising to be another Classic we, anticipate its release intently!
